Project entertainment game (P.E.G)
P.E.G was a group project where the members of the group had to come up with a game idea and then present it. After the idea was accepted by the client the project group had to make the game based on the idea.
Our game was called Trapped. Trapped is a 3D post-apocalyptic multiplayer zombie game. The players run around in a randomly generated maze where sight is limited. The players can play as zombies or the survivor. There is only one survivor that competes against three zombies. The zombies have to work together to localise the survivor and take him out. If one of the zombies sees the survivor the other zombies will be alarmed and led to the survivor. The survivor has to collect 6 food crates . If he brings those food crates to safe camps he wins the game.
To make the game more interesting we added some pickups. Those pick ups gave zombies and survivors a boost in three different ways.
- Sprint: Run faster
- Stealth:
- Survivor: stealth in game
- Zombie: stealth on minimap
- Trap: Slow the enemy
For the zombies we added an side quest if the right zombie found 4 brains of his color he gains a super power. The power is the ability to smell a survivor. it is shown in a smell bar. That bar will fill more is the survivor is closer.
Our group goal was to make a zombie game that doesn't focus on killing but on surviving.
My role in the project
My main role in the project was designing the game and creating the models needed in game. So i created models and textures of boxes, brains and the shipment containers. I implemented the way they worked as well in game by coding them. I also was a lots involved in researching what features to add and then telling the programmers what they need to create. Also setting up play test and balancing the game where tasks where i was involved.
